Liam Xavier Whitworth, Levi Buxman, and the Enduring Legacy of Two Young Warriors: A Memorial Tribute to Their Lives, Struggles, and Unyielding Spirits

With heavy hearts and a profound sense of peace, we announce the tragic passing of two incredible young souls, Liam Xavier Whitworth and Levi Buxman, who fought battles far beyond their years. Liam, at just 7 and a half years old, passed away on May 4, 2025, after a courageous three-year fight against cancer. His story, filled with bravery, joy, and an unyielding spirit, has inspired countless people across the world. Liam’s strength in the face of his diagnosis and his ability to live life with heart and soul until the very end is a testament to his indomitable spirit.

Liam was born on August 15, 2017, to Kyle G. and Breanna (Ramsey) Whitworth, in Ohio. From the very beginning, Liam was a miracle – a child with an innate ability to light up any room and make friends wherever he went. He never met a stranger and had a rare, innate warmth that left a lasting impression on anyone fortunate enough to know him. He lived a life marked by a profound understanding of love and joy, and, despite the incredible challenges he faced, he always maintained a playful and adventurous spirit.

Throughout his battle with cancer, Liam became an unlikely star on social media platforms such as Facebook and YouTube. His pursuit of becoming a digital content creator was both a passion and a means of connecting with the world beyond his illness. Liam’s story touched the hearts of many, earning him widespread recognition, including a poignant and meaningful friendship with NASCAR racer Joey Logano. Liam, a fan of the sport, witnessed his favorite driver win one final race before he passed, a bittersweet moment of triumph amidst his own trials.

Liam’s life was filled with simple joys, many of which he was able to experience despite his illness. Gaming was one of his favorite pastimes, and it’s no surprise that he bonded with his family over games like Minecraft and Monopoly Go. He loved the virtual worlds of Minecraft, which allowed him to imagine and create his own universe. These video games became his refuge, a place where he could escape the harsh realities of his illness and immerse himself in the creative possibilities of the digital world. Towards the end of his life, he even managed to check off some of his dreams from his bucket list. From visiting Disney World to marveling at the cherry blossoms in Washington D.C., Liam lived his life to the fullest.

He also loved the outdoors, whether it was a trip to the beach, a round of miniature golf, a visit to LegaSea Aquarium, or a final meal at his favorite steakhouse, Ken Stewart’s. Each experience was cherished, and every memory made was a precious reminder that Liam was more than just a cancer warrior – he was a little boy who loved life, who took joy in the simplest moments, and who inspired all those around him to cherish every single day.

Liam’s love for animals was another defining aspect of his life. He was proud of his role as a “chicken farmer,” even though his beloved chicken, Princess Whiskers, turned out to be a rooster. This humorous and endearing twist in his life is a symbol of Liam’s unique personality – full of love, joy, and a lighthearted spirit. Alongside his feathered friend, Liam shared his heart with his two cats, Floyd and Meow, and his goats, Pandy and Teddy. His animals brought him comfort during his illness, and they will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew Liam.

In addition to his immediate family, Liam’s passing leaves a wide-reaching impact on his extended family, friends, and community. He is survived by his loving parents, Kyle and Breanna Whitworth, and his baby sister, Zoey, who will carry on his memory in their hearts. His grandparents, Shawn and Paula Ramsey of Doylestown, Pat and Missey Whitworth of Applecreek, and his great-grandparents, Ron and Kay Dannemiller, Bill and Doris Heugle, Leo and Sandy Whitworth, and Donnie and Pamela Scheufler, also mourn his passing. His uncles, Jacob (Emma) Ramsey, Cody (Alisha) Whitworth, and his aunt, Harlie Whitworth, as well as a host of cousins, friends, and extended family members, will continue to keep Liam’s legacy alive.

Liam was also preceded in death by an infant sibling, his great-great-grandparents Dwight “Paw Paw Sip” and Shirley Manley, cousins Cody Hines and Matthew Helmick, and his resilient rescue chick, Survivor. These losses, too, shaped Liam’s life and spirit, as he faced them with courage and a heart full of love.

In Liam’s final days, he was surrounded by the people who loved him most – his family, friends, and his best friend, Levi Buxman. Levi, another brave cancer fighter, was a constant companion throughout Liam’s journey. Their friendship, forged in the shared experience of fighting the same battle, was a bond that transcended words. Together, they fought with determination, leaning on each other for strength and comfort during their darkest moments. Levi’s presence in Liam’s life will be remembered as one of the many beautiful and inspiring parts of his short but impactful journey.

Though Liam’s life was tragically brief, it was filled with more love, joy, and adventure than many could hope to experience in a lifetime. His strength and resilience have left a lasting legacy, reminding us all to live our lives with gratitude, to treasure our loved ones, and to fight for what matters most. Liam’s battle with cancer may have come to an end, but his spirit lives on, lighting up the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Liam is now at peace, running into the arms of Jesus, free from the physical pain that plagued his body for so long. While his family grieves his loss, they take comfort in knowing that Liam’s life was one of extraordinary love, courage, and light – a light that will never fade.

Liam’s legacy is a shining example of the strength of the human spirit. In his memory, let us continue to share love, kindness, and compassion with those around us, just as Liam did during his brief time here on Earth. His story serves as a reminder to us all that life is fragile and that every moment should be cherished. Liam will forever be missed, but his impact on the world will never be forgotten.
