Munna Duke and O’Block Younggin Killed in Triple Shooting in Edgewater, Chicago; Third Victim Hospitalized in Critical Condition

In the early hours of Saturday, May 10, 2025, a tragic incident unfolded in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood, resulting in the deaths of two men and leaving a third in critical condition. The shooting occurred around 1:20 a.m. in the 6300-block of North Broadway, near the intersection of Broadway and Rosemont Avenue.

Incident Overview

Chicago Police responded to reports of gunfire and discovered three male victims, each suffering from gunshot wounds. A 28-year-old man sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was transported to St. Francis Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased shortly thereafter. A second victim, a 31-year-old man, was shot in the chest and taken to Weiss Memorial Hospital, where he was also pronounced dead. The third victim, a 36-year-old man, sustained a gunshot wound to the back and was transported to Evanston Hospital, where he is currently listed in fair condition.

Victims’ Identities

While the Chicago Police Department has not officially released the identities of the deceased, local reports and social media sources indicate that one of the victims may be Chicago rapper Munna Duke, a well-known artist associated with the O’Block community. Another man reportedly killed alongside him is said to be O’Block Younggin, though these identifications have not yet been confirmed by the medical examiner.

Investigation and Community Impact

As of Saturday morning, no suspects have been taken into custody, and a motive has not yet been disclosed. Area detectives are actively investigating, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Chicago Police or submit anonymous tips to CPD’s tip line. Due to the ongoing investigation, CTA temporarily rerouted #36 Broadway buses in both directions but has since restored normal service after the police perimeter was lifted.

The Edgewater neighborhood has experienced a recent uptick in gun violence, with several shootings reported in the area in the past year.
