Lorain County, OH — A 32-year-old woman remains hospitalized in serious condition after being shot during a road rage incident in Lorain County. The suspect, 27-year-old Nicholas DeJesus of Amherst Township, is in custody facing multiple felony charges.

Incident Overview

On the morning of May 19, 2025, a road rage altercation began near the intersection of Cooper Foster and South Broadway in Lorain. The confrontation escalated as the vehicles traveled west on Middle Ridge Road to State Route 58 in Amherst Township. At approximately 8:00 a.m., DeJesus allegedly fired a shot in the 7500 block of Leavitt Road, striking the woman’s vehicle. The victim, a staff member for Rising Sun Centers, was driving a passenger van with five adults on board. She managed to safely stop the van and call 911. Suspect in Custody

Nicholas DeJesus turned himself in to Amherst Police later that day. He is charged with seven counts of felonious assault and one count of discharging a firearm on prohibited premises.
