In Loving Memory of Braun Levi ’25: A Beacon of Light in the Loyola Community

It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that the Loyola High School community mourns the tragic and untimely passing of Braun Levi ’25, who lost his life in a vehicular accident. Braun was more than just a student—he was a beacon of energy, compassion, leadership, and joy who touched the lives of countless peers, teachers, coaches, and mentors during his time at Loyola.

A Life of Leadership and Service

Braun exemplified what it meant to be a Man for and with Others. His contributions to the Loyola community were far-reaching and deeply felt. As a three-year captain of the Varsity tennis team, Braun led not just with skill, but with humility and heart. His teammates looked up to him not only for his athletic prowess but for his relentless encouragement, optimism, and sportsmanship. (Loyola High School of Los Angeles)

He served on the Student Council, where his voice helped shape student life with purpose and integrity. He was also a Senior Big Brother, mentoring younger students and guiding them through the challenges of high school with patience, empathy, and a gentle spirit. As a Kairos retreat leader, Braun brought faith, vulnerability, and strength to an experience that defines the Loyola spiritual journey.

In every arena, from the tennis courts to the retreat halls, and even courtside as a volleyball team manager, Braun showed up—consistently, wholeheartedly, and with a smile that made others feel seen, valued, and uplifted.

A Community in Mourning

Braun’s passing leaves an unimaginable void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. In this time of immense grief, the Loyola community has come together in remembrance and support. A prayer vigil was held in Caruso Hall, where students, faculty, staff, and families gathered to reflect on Braun’s life, pray for his loved ones, and share memories that celebrate the remarkable young man he was. Through scripture, music, and shared stories, the vigil reminded all in attendance that while Braun’s physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit lives on—in every act of kindness, every leadership role filled with grace, and every moment of fellowship and faith he inspired.

Remembering Braun with Love and Hope

Braun Levi will be remembered not only for what he achieved but for how he made others feel. He was a loyal friend, a devoted son and sibling, and a source of unwavering light to all fortunate enough to walk alongside him. His legacy will be carried on through the many lives he touched, the values he embodied, and the example he set for future generations of Loyola students.

As we hold Braun’s family in our thoughts and prayers, we also honor his memory by striving to live with the same joy, selflessness, and quiet strength that he demonstrated every day.

Conclusion

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4

May Braun Levi ’25 rest in eternal peace, and may his family find strength, comfort, and solace in the loving embrace of the Loyola community.
